A WORD FOR THE SOUL.
SHARPEN YOUR SKILLS
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Proverbs 22:29
Vision alone is not enough to take us to the place of unlimited breakthrough but skill in your relevant field is. It was David’s skill that made King Saul take note of him as a shepherd boy to come and minister to him in his palace.
Unction, prophecy and prayer etc is no substitute for skill. Leadership is a skill, singing is a skill, writing is a skill, designing is a skill, footballing is a skill etc.
How do you sharpen your skill? You do so by training, if you are not ready to be somebody’s boy today, you can’t be somebody’s man tomorrow. Training is one of the ways to refine your skills. David as a shepherd boy was busy sharpening his skills in the bush before emerging as a victorious warrior and giant killer. There is every need to sharpen your skills in order not to be taken unawares in the day of showcasing. Also, consistency of discipline is required in order to produce the desired result. It is better to prepare and wait for an opportunity that may or may never come than for the opportunity to come and you are not prepared.
WORD OF PRAYER:- Father, as I sharpen my skills, give me the opportunity to showcase them in Jesus’ name, Amen.
QUOTE:- A skillful man is a needed man.
